Private Investigator Bursary

National bursary competition for academic year 2014/2015 and 2015/2016. Each scholarship will provide £1,000 to assist one student undertaking a full-time course (BTEC Level 3 and above).

The award will be made to the individual student for one year only.

What is This Scholarship?

We have a huge interest in the education of the next generation of private detectives and investigators and as we have a commitment to helping others we are offering one student a monetary award to assist with their education.

Am I Eligible?

To be eligible for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants are required to be studying for a BTEC Level 3 or above
  • Applicants are required to have firmly accepted their offer of a full-time place
  • Applicants must be registered with the university by the 31st October 2014 for the bursary 2014/2015 and 31st October 2015 for the bursary 2015-2016.

A panel made up of private detectives and investigators will meet in early November to consider who the scholarship will be awarded to.

Criminology, Forensic Science, Criminology and Police Science, Forensic Crime Scene, Digital, E-Crime, Cyber Crime, Forensic Investigation, Forensic Analysis, Crime and Investigative Studies, Criminology and Sociology, Law, Psychology and Criminology, Policing, Law and Investigation.

Applicants that meet this criterion are invited to submit a 200 word statement titled "How The Private Investigator Scholarship Will Help Me" via the below form.

  • Margate

    A Thanet town at the seaside, north-east of Canterbury by (24.1 km) 15 miles, which includes Garlinge, Cliftonville, Westbrook, and Palm Bay is Margate, Kent, South East England. Though the spelling continued to vary into modern times, Margate in 1264 as "Meregate" was recorded and in 1299 as "Margate". A "limb" of Dover in the ancient confederation of the Cinque Ports was Margate.

  • Private Investigator Margate

    As a municipal borough in 1857, Margate was incorporated. Contains the seven wards that are electoral of Cliftonville West, Margate Central, Westbrook, Cliftonville East, Salmestone, Dane Valley, and Garlinge, is the town. Described in 1805, were the bathing machines in use at Margate. An ACE Coaster Classic is the Margate roller coaster.

    Situated at the bottom of Northdown Road are, also known as the Vortigern Caves, the Margate Caves, first discovered in 1798. Built to commemorate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in 1887, although not completed until 1889, was Margate's Jubilee Clock Tower. They hoped that to Margate's traditional tourist trade, an alternative the centre would offer and regenerate Margate, the once-thriving town.

    At Hartsdown Park, Margate F.C. plays. To the Battle of Margate that is relatively unknown yet influential, starting in 1387 on the 24 March, of the Caroline War phase of the Hundred Years' War, it was the last naval battle that was major, Margate gives its name. Infamous for violence of gangs in the 1960s between rockers and mods, and in the 1980s mods and skinheads, was Margate, like Brighton and Southend.

    Experiences an oceanic climate (K ppen climate classification Cfb) similar to much of the United Kingdom was Margate. Compared to the national average of 20%, of Margate residents, 11% had some kind of qualification that is professional or higher. The unemployment rate of Margate has become higher than much of south eastern England's rest, as tourists in more recent years have travelled further afield.

Following Arnold Schwartzman OBE RDI's suggestion, a former resident of Margate, Margate Civic Society raised funds to have the Time Ball repaired and brought back into use, though the Time Ball fell out of use many years ago. Has two newspapers that are paid-for, the Thanet Times and Isle of Thanet Gazette, which in 2012 ceased publication, which by Northcliffe Media are owned, is Margate.
